David Jarkins is an active member of the Springfield Astronomical Society and contributor to the American Association of Variable Star Observers. His passion for astronomy started in elementary school and quickly had him leaving the children's section of the library for the science section to learn more about astronomy, physics, and chemistry. While his astronomical observations and studies include planetary science and supernova searches in nearby galaxies, his area of primary focus is around cataclysmic variables.
