Harriett E. Hamlin moved to Maryland in 1992 as an Elementary Science teacher. With 32 years of varied educational experience, she continues her teaching by instructing, mentoring and motivating her colleagues and students in the local, state and national curriculum. By timely disseminating the NGSS standards due to her belief in the sustainability and empowerment of academic excellence, has made it possible for her pupils to achieve scholastic success. Ms. Hamlin presently teaches 7th grade Science-ESOL at Takoma Park Middle School in Montgomery County, MD. She conducts a STEM afterschool program with a AAAS Retired Scientist. Ms. Hamlin states: "Learning is a journey. Therefore, while you move up your life ladder, you need to stop and glean all that you can from others that have differing aspirations than you. You never know what you might learn!"
