Astronomy in general and space exploration in particular has always fascinated Vinita Domier as learning about the universe has been her lifelong passion. She wants to share that passion and excitement with local enthusiasts of all ages and educational backgrounds. Since 2002, She has been the sole coordinator and the main presenter of the Davis Astronomy Club based in Davis, California, where she strives to instill and sustain an interest in conceptual astronomy through lectures and observational astronomy through star parties. She also likes to engage in hands-on activities and use models to demonstrate movements of the solar system bodies, and to celebrate the technological achievements in space exploration. She aims to inspire everyone to 'look up' and appreciate the beauty of the infinite universe.
