William Scott Blake has been a space enthusiast after witnessing the splashdown of Apollo 16 at the age of four. He is a current member of the Kanawha Valley Astronomical Society and the Central Appalachia Astronomy Club. He continues to perform public outreach with both of these clubs, helping participate in star parties and other annual events. Scott is currently performing amateur research into archeoastronomy in the Kanawha Valley and plans to publish a paper on his findings in the future. He has a wide field of interests including freediving, hang gliding, reading, aircraft recognition, hiking, fossil hunting, photography, kiting, history, science, collecting space memorabilia, playing music, as well as volunteering for educational facilities, schools and libraries. He is a resident of Tyler Mountain, West Virginia.
