Michelle Wilde
Michelle Wilde's professional background is in computer networking, telecommunications and providing technology solutions for nonprofit organizations. She is a self-professed astronomy nerd and has been fascinated with astronomy since she was a child. She remembers one very memorable experience at the top of Mt. Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii where the night sky was lit up with stars in every direction - all you could see were stars from one end of the sky to the other. It was an amazing experience! Michelle enjoys observing the universe through her telescope as often as possible. She is a member of the Texas Astronomical Society and participates in star parties and other events with the club. She had the great opportunity to see a space shuttle launch at Kennedy Space Center which was a life changing experience. Outside of her astronomy interests, Michelle volunteers with several school and scout organizations in her community. She is also actively involved with numerous animal rescue and welfare initiatives. She is passionate about improving education for girls in STEM and providing increased opportunities for girls to cultivate many more future scientists and astronauts.
