Percussionist and composer Marc Wagnon was born in Switzerland, where he studied classical percussion at the Geneva Conservatory. He has lived in the United States since the 1980s, where he studied composition and mallet technique on the vibraphone at the Berklee School in Boston, then moved to New York City to further his jazz performance and percussion skills. Since that time, Marc has toured the U.S., Europe, Japan and Brazil, and can be heard on over 20 recordings, including four solo albums. Marc’s interest in electronics led him to push the boundaries of live performance with the “electronic vibraphone”, where he is recognized as a pioneer on this instrument. Besides being a performer and a composer, Marc teaches workshops in the U.S. and in Europe, and is involved in making computers accessible to visually impaired musicians.
