Lisabeth Kissner
Lisabeth Kissner received her B.S. in Geology in 1993. She has worked for the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation as an outdoor interpreter, adjunct lecturer of astronomy at SUNY Plattsburgh and an instructor for the local BOCES Starlab planetarium. She currently holds the position of Associate Director of the Northcountry Planetarium while completing her Masters of Liberal Studies in administration and astronomy education. She has thoroughly enjoyed her involvement in astronomy education and hopes to continue this endeavor.|Lisabeth developed a new course in astronomy and space science for her college's elementary education majors. She strongly advocates to pre-service teachers that astronomy and space science are ideal mediums to teach interdisciplinary math, science and technology curricula - especially at the elementary education level. She wishes to not only to impart subject content and the usual factual trivia, but also to again awaken that natural youthful enthusiasm everyone has for astronomy.
