Doug Showell attended the University of Arizona to become an astronomer. Due to a lack of funds, and poor study habits, he returned to Nebraska where I attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha and got his act together. He graduated in December of 1993 and has been teaching ever since. He has taught at two Omaha Public School middle schools, and ran a planetarium before my tenure at Papillion-La Vista Senior High School. He currently teaches college level astronomy at UNO, writes curriculum and teaches 4th-10th graders at UNO’s Aim for the Stars summer camp. He has a Masters Degree in Space Science education from Regis University. He is also a music aficionado and enjoy sports and sporting events. He is married and has two children.
