Maureen Salmi is a retired RN, former home-schooling mom, and private pilot. She and her husband live in Kailua Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii, the best place on Earth for astronomy. She is so fortunate to be a Guidestar (docent) at the W. M. Keck Observatory in Hawaii, as well as being a Palomar Observatory Docent at the CalTech Palomar Observatory in California. As an active member of the West Hawaii Astronomy Club, she participates in many public outreach events, and also volunteers at the Onizuka Visitor Information Station on Mauna Kea.
