Timothy Ortiz has more than thirty years in the aerospace industry. He has more than twenty years of experience in software design, development, and integration and test of complex satellite ground systems, experiencing the full development lifecycle over eight different times. Mr. Ortiz is now overseeing agile based software development systems for NASA. He has experience in managing efficient operations and maintenance programs, benefiting from lessons learned and applying best practices. He has successfully developed client relationships, repeatedly delivered products on time and under budget. Mr. Ortiz builds teams of subject matter experts and small business, performing outreach and also involving small companies in Mentor-Protégé programs, sharing his business knowledge. He was instrumental in earning the 2014 NASA Prime Contractor of the Year Award for both the Goddard Space Flight Center and across all NASA Centers. He has also received the 2018 NASA Goddard Mentor Protégé Agreement of the Year. Mr. Ortiz attended the University of Maryland University College and earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science. Mr. Ortiz resides in Calvert County, Maryland with his wife of 31 years and is the proud father of four children. He is an active member of his church and community; is a Maryland Certified Master Gardener, been the Huntingtown Elementary School Chess coach and is a member of Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.
