Maria Blue is a retired first grade teacher from Emblem Academy in Saugus, California, now living in beautiful Granbury Texas. She had more than thirty years of experience teaching and cultivating curiosity for people of all ages. She helped create the California Science Framework for the Next Generation Science Standards. She has presented workshops for teachers combining science, art and literature statewide. She was Teacher of the Year for the Saugus Union School District. She was a NASA AREE teacher (Airborne Research Experience for Educators) and worked with NASA's PSTI program for beginning educators.
