Cyndi Shaver has been a teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for twenty-nine years. Somewhere along the way, her father pulled her into attending a meeting with a new astronomy club organizing in the area. She has been there ever since! She and her sister are now the co-coordinators for all the children's activities that occur during any event the club offers. As an itinerant teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, she has the wonderful opportunity to work with many amazing educators. She enjoys collaborating with them during the school year to present space science to all grade levels. In her spare time, she teaches American Sign Language at West Virginia University and is a board member of the WV Commission for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Cyndi is married to a West Virginia History teacher and has a daughter entering high school next year.
