Kati Searcy
Kati Searcy was born in Hollywood, California but has called Georgia her home for the past 30 years. She has earned four college degrees and considers herself a lifelong learner. After participating in a two-week summer fellowship at Marshall Space Flight Center in 2001, she became a space enthusiast. She then went on to become an educator-facilitator for the same program the following summer at Dryden Flight Research Center. The following two years found her as an educator-facilitator for the summer NASA Explorer's School workshops at Kennedy Space Center. Since 2001, Kati has twice facilitated a live video conference between the crew aboard the International Space Station and the students at her school. She has twice been selected for the NASA Social Media Team to cover lanches at KSC. She was named Georgia's Gifted Educator of the Year in 2013. She has presented at state, national and international conferences. She takes her life motto from a quote by Mark Twain - "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
