Solar System Ambassadors
Debra Millican
Debra Millican is a retired middle school science teacher who loves to help others learn about space. She is still involved in learning about space exploration and the benefits we as humans can receive from that. She has organized special events for students and teachers and community members to attend, such as a study of learning about the Apollo Missions to the moon and getting to touch some moon rocks. Mrs. Millican also implemented the viewing of the solar eclipse on August 21, 2017 by the student body of Joshua Independent School District. She is very interested in robotics and wrote several grants for her district to receive robotics equipment when she was teaching. She is now a substitute teacher at the middle school level and teaches about science and space every chance she gets. She enjoys teaching the community and hopes to encourage them to be lifelong learners. She hopes that more students will be inspired to get involved in STEM and/or STEAM classes.
