Stephen McGaughey is an artist, musician, maritime captain and amateur astronomer. He now lives on Maui in Hawaii and is a retired captain and dive guide for a submarine adventure activity in Lahaina. He is the Vice President of the Haleakala Amateur Astronomers (HAA) in affiliation with the Institute for Astronomy (IFA) with the University of Hawaii. Steve is an avid observer of double stars and conducts observations at the HAA site at the summit of Haleakala. He conducts educational presentations to students and convention delegates through the IFA.
