Malmi Kiriwandalage
Malmi Pasandi Kiriwandalage is a Sri Lankan astronomer, space science educator, and aspiring astrobiologist dedicated to uncovering the mysteries of the cosmos. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy & Planetary Sciences from Stony Brook University (SUNY) and a Master’s degree in Planetary Geosciences from Ohio University, Athens. A graduate of the Advanced Space Academy at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, Malmi combines her rigorous academic background with a deep-seated passion for outreach. As a staunch space science advocate, she is committed to bridging the gap between high-level research and public understanding. Her mission is to deconstruct complex astronomical concepts into simple, accessible terms for fellow space enthusiasts and the next generation of explorers. Currently, Malmi is in the process of enrolling in a doctoral program to obtain her PhD in Astrobiology and Planetary Sciences, further solidifying her role as a leader in the global space science community.
