Rod Cortright is an amateur astronomer and astrophotographer, who with his wife Michelle, reside just north of Boyne City, Michigan. In that location he has constructed a small observatory, from which he photographs deep sky objects both within and outside of our galaxy. He is a founding member and vice president of the Northern Michigan Astronomy Club. He has made a numerous presentations on astronomy subjects and has authored numerous articles for local newspapers. He also conducts public observing sessions at his observatory and at other locations in the area.
