Paul Birchall has been working as a County Librarian since 2015, when he was hired at Culver City Library as an adult services librarian. He has recently transitioned to being a children’s librarian, and has also worked at West Hollywood, Lennox, Santa Monica, and Manhattan Beach Libraries. He became a degreed librarian in mid-life, after 25 years working as a screenplay reader for movie studios. When that particular gig tapered out, he got a job working as a page at the Santa Monica Public Library, and that was when the library bug got him. In addition to library work, Paul is also a professional writer and journalist, having covered Los Angeles theater for a number of local newspapers and websites. His interests are theater, hiking, and travel.
