Thomas Quayle
Thomas Quayle is an Education Specialist at Salt Lake County’s Clark Planetarium. He provides educational programming to students statewide through the Planetarium’s school outreach program and on-site field trips. In addition to serving as a programming expert for the Planetarium’s Science on a Sphere (SOS) educational system, Thomas is the resident Climate Change educator and prepares materials, training, and educational programming related to Climate Change for staff, students, and teachers. He has presented at workshops hosted by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and other local organizations. Thomas is a regular presenter in the Planetarium’s Night Vision series and is a scientist in his own right, having worked on a project to develop Mars soil simulant samples, and regularly participates in a variety of Citizen Science projects. Thomas also served as an Analog Astronaut at the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) MDRS-238 Spaceward Bound mission. In 2017, Thomas was selected by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) to serve as a NASA Solar System Ambassador, joining a nationwide network of more than 1300 volunteers.
