Tim Pinkney
Already flying airplanes at age 5 with his Dad, Tim Pinkney became a space enthusiast at age 9 when he saw his first Vandenberg rocket launch from his childhood home living room. He built plastic models of rockets and planes and eventually hung 77 of them from his bedroom ceiling before going to high school. He earned his Private Pilots license 3 months out of high school and added a Glider rating shortly thereafter. Before entering a 24 year Naval Aviation career, he earned a Multi-Engine aircraft rating. He closely followed the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space programs before spending a career in Naval Aviation. Although flying from ocean-based moving runways, he never lost the spark of space flight. He served for 10 years on the Board of the Aerospace Museum of California in Sacramento, California to be close to planes and rockets. He then held the Museum's Deputy Director Office during a transition of leadership. A great storyteller with a light, easy and humorous style, he can make any space, outer space or inner space topic interesting and learnable.
