Michal Peri's career in optics, image processing, and technology business development has spanned the spectrum of scientific applications. She has analyzed satellite data, designed instrumentation for the Big Eye at Palomar Observatory and patented methods for automated microscopic analysis of cancer biopsies. She retired in order to indulge her penchant for educational outreach. She enjoys demystifying math and science, and showing children and adults how much fun they can have making STEAM. Michal holds a BA in Mathematics from University of California, San Diego and MS in Physics and PhD in Astronomy from the California Institute of Technology. She is a proud mother to two daughters who are continuing a family tradition by studying STEAM at University of California, Berkeley and Rice University.
