Patricia Monteith
Pat Monteith received a BA in Math with the hope of working in Mission Control for NASA. But, as happens with most of us, life took a different turn and she ended up managing a public radio station. Over the years, her interest in Earth & Space science stayed strong largely as a result of her son's interest in paleontology; she accompanied him on fossil digs in Montana, Colorado & Arizona. After retirement, in addition to creating a Makerspace for her local Library, Pat started working with middle and high school students to assist with the preparation of their science fair projects - some about ion rocket thrusters and comets. With her passion for space science never wavering, Pat has taken several educator workshops from NASA/JPL and conducts hands-on presentations for grades 3+, families and adults about the Moon, Mars, eclipses, asteroids, meteor showers, the ISS, Women of NASA and the James Webb Space Telescope. Pat also produces a weekly 2-minute radio feature about astronomy and NASA missions for radio station in Hamden, Connecticut
