Solar System Ambassadors
Angela Gibson
Dr. Angela Gibson is an educator, STEM/STEAM advocate, and NASA Solar System Ambassador. Angela volunteers as an informal STEM/STEAM educator and science communicator creating learning opportunities and providing outreach at schools, libraries, and with community organizations. She promotes STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and STEAM (STEM with Arts) in on site events and through social media platforms. Angela is a wildlife gardener and her and her family support the Monarch butterfly migration each year. As an educator, she achieved the rank of Professor at American Public University System. Dr. Gibson teaches in the Doctor of Education program at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences as Contributing Faculty. She serves as faculty for the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) Institute for Professional Development training participants, facilitating workshops, and serving as a mentor to professional educators. She also teaches as an adjunct Lecturer in the doctoral Educational Leadership program, the Higher Education Administration Leadership doctoral certificate, and masters of Adult Education program at Texas A&M University -- Kingsville. Dr. Gibson holds a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, with concentrations in Adult Education and Community College Education from Texas A&M University - Kingsville and received a Master of Arts in Human Performance Systems, with a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design, from Marymount University. She has been published in various peer reviewed journals and presents at national and international conferences. She is a recipient of the Online Learning Consortium 2017 and 2014 Effective Practice Award and the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences Excellence in Teaching - 2021 Board of Excellence Award.
