Cathalina Juarez
Cathalina Juarez is a workforce development manager with an organization that seeks internships, fellowships and scholarships for underserved students. She was raised in Maryland, after her parents immigrated to the United States in order to provide their children with the best possible educational opportunities. She says her natural curiosity, since childhood, ultimately led her to science. In high school, her science experiment won awards at the county science fair, including a scholarship. She went on to receive two bachelor's degrees from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County - a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and a B. A. in Psychology. She went on to receive a master's degree in Education from California State University, Long Beach. In her spare time, she volunteers with local groups who focus their efforts on education for underserved communities.
