Solar System Ambassadors
Mark Baker
Mark Baker is a physicist and amateur astronomer, who has a love of anything space related. It had been his dream since childhood to be at the forefront of the next wave of pioneers, but is now content to encourage the current generation to become explorers, on and off-planet, through extensive outreach activity. Mark promotes an awareness of things celestial through his affiliation with, and long time presidency of, the Temecula Valley Astronomers, his docent work at CalTech's Palomar Observatory, a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador, and a Citizen Scientist with PDCO. He utilizes this background wherever he travels in the world, and derives great pleasure in meeting up with local Astronomy and Science groups, such as in Malaysia, Singapore, and Perth, Western Australia to name a few. He enjoys listening and learning, as well as discussing the common thread of a love of the cosmos. Mark promotes the simple philosophy of "looking up" in all that he does.
