Terry Barker has loved viewing the night sky since his early teenage years. That probably helped push him into his college major of Physics. After graduation, Terry became a high school science teacher--and especially enjoyed the sections on space exploration and astronomy. Even though Terry ended up as a mainframe computer programmer for a profession, he always maintained his observing and involvement with local astronomy clubs. He was a member of the the Oklahoma City club when he lived there, and served as president of the Richmond Astronomical Society in Virginia for a couple of years. As a member of the board of directors, he was obligated to present a program once a year and always looked forward to doing it. The research it involved helped keep his skill level up to speed.
