After a 30-year career in the specialty chemical business world, Marteen Nolan became a teacher in large part to give back to all the teachers who had helped prepare her for a successful career and life. She believes her years of real-life experience enhance her credibility as an educator. Her students know she is telling them the truth when she tells them about the qualities that led her to hire new employees. Marteen's passion for Space began with the original Mercury 7 astronauts and continues to today. She feels very honored to call local-student-made-good, Astronaut Mike Hopkins, a friend. She lives and teaches in rural Missouri, where she enjoys therapy work and rally obedience with her Australian Shepherd dogs.
