Margarita Kraynova
Margarita Kraynova is currently in her last semester of her Masters Program to become a high school physics teacher. She has been in love with space since she was a child. Her high school physics teacher was the one who opened her eyes to how beautiful math can be when applied to the real world. Margarita was born in Ukraine and moved to Brooklyn in 1994 with her family. She grew up with the strict upbringing that comes with having Slovak parents, but will the laid-back mentality that rubs off on you after living in the United States for over 20 years. Because she grew up bilingual, Margarita acquired a curiosity and passion for languages. She now has a working proficiency in American Sign Language and an elementary proficiency in German. Margarita volunteers her free time at at a local observatory where she continues to expand her knowledge in astronomy and and skills operating telescopes. She is involved with the Binghamton University physics outreach program bringing after-school science education to the local elementary schools.
