Juan González Alicea is a professor of Moral and Social Doctrine of the Church and of an elective class of astronomy at the Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He has a degree in Theology and Philosophy from the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical University of Salamanca in Spain. He has been a member of the Caribbean Astronomical Society since 2010 and past president from 2014 to 2021. He is an astrophotographer and bird photographer. He has given lectures on astronomy and space exploration at many schools, colleges, museums, and various universities in Puerto Rico, including the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico and the Arecibo Observatory. If he is not like that, he has one of the largest collections of meteorites in all of Puerto Rico and has given talks showing the public these objects from space. He is a member of the American Meteor Society and is currently the founder and president of AODACE (Asociación de Observación, Difusión Astronómica y Ciencias del Espacio), an organization that promotes education in astronomy and space sciences.
