Earl Foster is a licensed HAM radio operator, amateur astronomer, and space weather enthusiast. It was his love of space sciences that inspired him to launch and recover unmanned high altitude balloons 20 miles above Texas to capture images of the Earth. During a visit to Haleakala National Park in Maui Hawaii, he had the opportunity to view the sun through a sun-safe solar telescope and was amazed at the beauty and power of our own star. Since that time he wanted to learn more about the sun and its impact on society and technology. He began teaching others how the sun influences our lives through outreach programs held locally. He is a regular volunteer at his local state park at their monthly Sun Fun and StarWalk programs. Earl possess a Bachelor's in Computer Science from Old Dominion University. He has worked in the IT industry for 20 years helping companies improve their network and application performance needs.
