Ruth Ruud has been in education for more than 30 years as teacher, district coordinator and retired as an elementary principal. Ruth has implemented many science outreach programs in the school district and serves on district committees and state education committees.

Her awards include the Presidential Award for Excellence in Elementary Science, Milken Family Foundation Educator Award, finalist for Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year, and Distinguished Alumni, Gannon University.

Ruth has been a Solar System Educator, a 1990 NEWEST participant and a NASA Explorer School Facilitator at NASA Goddard Flight Space Center in 2003. She is a past President for Pennsylvania Science Teachers Association Ruth is also the treasurer for the Society of Elementary Presidential Awardees. She has |presented at local, state, and national conventions including NSTA conventions.
