Elizabeth Elliott
Elizabeth Elliott earned her Bachelor's degree in Science Education from the University of Central Florida in 1978. She acquired her Masters degree in Education at Post University in Connecticut where she specialized in Instructional Design and Technology 2012. She worked as a certified teacher in the field of Biology for Secondary Education for 18 years. During this time, she developed an environmental education program and has participated in many workshops and classes in developing laboratory activities for both Biology and Ecology students in grades 10 through 12. She received the Disney Innovative Teacher of the Year Award, Governor's Nominee for Environmental Science Education and AT&T Environmental Educator. She has been a Project Wild and Project Learning Tree Facilitator for four years helping to present environmental education to students through formal and informal settings. Elizabeth recently received her certification as a Certified Interpretive Guide through the National Association for Interpretation to advance natural and heritage interpretation skills and continues to maintain her Florida Teachers Certificate. Elizabeth has owned and operated her own company called Sea Science since 2004 in order to provide educational programs for a variety of ages on science related fields. She has written the KIDS-N-TREES activity guide for the City of Marathon and will be helping both formal and informal educators to implement a community service project for the restoration of native plant species throughout the Florida Keys.|Elizabeth has been active in providing Astronomy programs for the last 10 years. She is an active member of the Florida Keys Astronomy Club. She has been interested in Astronomy and Space Exploration since early childhood and continues to follow NASA missions closely.
