Mary Lara
Mary Lara retired from Flagstaff Unified School District after 38 years. She is currently the AIMER (American Indian Mobile Education Resources) coordinator for NASA/NAU Space Grant at Northern Arizona University. She is also the Director of Walker Observatory (located on the DeMiguel Elementary School campus), which houses a 16" Newtonian telescope and several portable telescopes. Mary received her BS in Early Childhood Education and her MA in Elementary Education from NAU. She has attended the Honeywell Space Academy and has flown aboard the Zero G plane. She is a past-president of Arizona Science Teachers Association and past secretary of Council for Elementary Science International. SOLAR SYSTEM AMBASSADOR MASTER TEACHER
