Joseph Wright
Joseph Wright attended the University of Kansas School of Architecture and School of Architectural Engineering specializing in illumination engineering and lighting design. He trained at the University of Arizona's Mt. Lemmon Sky Center for teaching and outreach astronomy for Girls Scouts (GSA). Following two sessions in Tucson, he attended a training for GSA staff at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. |Joe is an Eagle Scout and was a Scoutmaster for 15 years. He has been a member of the Astronomical Society of Kansas City since 1996. Currently he serves as the club's vice-president and has been a board member and past-president. |Joe was the Observatory Director for Powell Observatory for more than a year. At present, he is the Operations Manager for the Warkoczewski (Warko) Observatory for the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He has been leading a stargazer astronomy program for the local Girl Scout council since 2003. Joe enjoys sharing astronomy with the public and developing activities for the youth to better understand astronomical concepts and theories. |
