Chris Thompson
Chris Thompson is a Human Resources professional with a passion for the United States' space program. He holds a M.A. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and a BS in Psychology. He has taught for Georgia State University's Saturday School for Scholars and Leaders as well as numerous classroom presentations to public schools in several states over the past 30 years. Chris is President of the Meteorite Association of Georgia and a member of the International Meteorite Collectors Association. He is an active collector, and enjoys sharing his material through hands-on activities with students of all ages. His work experience includes time at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. His interest in the space program began as a child watching the earliest US manned flights and has continued to grow through opportunities to experience space program launches from Florida and attend lectures by astronauts and space program participants at public venues including NASA Centers. Becoming a Solar System Ambassador allows Chris to share his love of space with more people through the activities with partner institutions in the Atlanta area.
