Timothy Taber grew up in southern New Hampshire where his interest in astronomy and space exploration was sparked during high school. Tim then attended Vassar College and earned his BA in astronomy and physics in 2011. While working on his undergraduate degree, Tim completed two 10-week astronomy REU programs. In 2009, he worked at Colgate University assisting with a research project on quasar variability. In 2010, he traveled to Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico to contribute to the AGES (Arecibo Galaxy Environment Survey) project, a neutral hydrogen galaxy survey. Early in his career, Tim worked as an educator and exhibits coordinator at the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord, NH. That was followed by a brief stint in digital marketing at the Mount Washington Observatory. In 2016, Tim moved to Alaska and is currently employed in the exhibits department at the Anchorage Museum. Although a few years removed from formal scientific research, he still has a passion and enthusiasm for astronomy, physics, and space science, and hopes to spread that enthusiasm throughout Alaska.
