  • Send Your Name To A Comet!
Since this was so popular the first time, we've decided to create a second microchip that will be carried on the STARDUST spacecraft. STARDUST will launch in February 1999 to visit Comet Wild-2 and collect particles spewing out from the comet and return them to Earth for analysis. The microchip will be placed inside the sample return capsule and will be carried back to Earth after the comet encounter.
