Dr. Sumita Nandi is a senior engineer supporting Stardust since joining
the Guidance, Navigation and Control Section in early 2005. At JPL since
1991, she has implemented various signal processing, physical
modeling and least-squares estimation algorithms for applications
including GPS, orbit
determination and infrared remote sensing. A highlight of her efforts at
JPL was developing the real-time software to control the high
precision Ka-band ranging system for the GRACE mission. Her more recent
work has focused on implementation and support for the DSN's spacecraft
VLBI capability.
Dr. Nandi received a B.A. degree in physics from University of Chicago in
1985 and an M.S. and Ph.D. in High Energy Physics from Cornell University in
1987 and 1991, respectively.
