Dr. Nick Mastrodemos joined the Navigation and Flight Mechanics section in April 2000. Since then he has almost exclusively worked for the Deep Impact project on image planning, instrument, approach and autonomous optical navigation. In 2003 he joined Stardust to work on the approach optical navigation phase of the mission.

Dr. Mastrodemos received an M.S. in Physics from Virginia Tech in 1991 and a Ph.D. in Astronomy from UCLA in 1998. Prior to his current employment he has held an NRC Postdoctoral position at JPL.
