Pat Monteith received a BA in Math with the hope of working in Mission Control for NASA. But, as happens with most of us, her life took a different turn and she ended up managing a public radio station. Over the years, her interest in Earth & Space science stayed strong largely as a result of her son’s interest in paleontology. She even accompanied him on several fossil digs in Montana, Colorado and Arizona.
When Pat retired, she decided to work with middle and high school students to assist with the preparation of their science fair projects, some of which have been about ion rocket thrusters and comets. With her passion for space science never wavering, Pat has taken several educator workshops from NASA and is certified to handle meteorites and lunar material. She has conducted several workshops on asteroids.
