NASA Sounding Rocket

A NASA sounding rocket will make one flight to take measurements of extreme ultraviolet light not observable from the ground. A Black Brant IX NASA sounding rocket carrying the Extreme Ultraviolet Spectrograph (EUVS) will be launched at 12:01 a.m. EDT on July 16 from the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. NASA plans to recover the payload. During a 5-minute observing period, EUVS will make measurements in the 800 to 1,140 Angstrom wavelength region, also known as the "Lyman" region. This region lies between the regions covered by the NASA's Extreme Ultraviolet Explorer and the Hubble Space Telescope.
