This image was taken at 00:30:17 UT on July 20, 1994 using the observatory's 16" Alvan Clark refractor. The CCD image was taken with an Astro Link camera using a green filter. Seeing conditions were hazy with steady air. The G & L fragment impacts are clearly seen in the southern hemisphere below the northern and southern equatorial bands. The image was processed to bring out detail of the impact sites.
