This near-infrared (K-band) image of Jupiter was obtained at 03:03 UT on July 21, 1994. The K impact site is just rotating onto the disk of the planet, while the E site is rotating off to the right. Two older impact sites are still visible between them, although their brightness has diminished somewhat. The bright white spot in the northern hemisphere is Jupiter's satellite Europa, and the two spots slightly north of the impact sites are two of Jupiter's three White Ovals, which are long-lived cloud systems.
