This image was constructed from three images of the planet made with the Bochum 60cm telescope on La Silla. They were combined to yield a "true colour" view of Jupiter. The image shows the shadow of Europa on the disc.
The observers were Carsenty and Mottola and they were using a DLR CCD
imaging system. Each image is a composite of about 5 one second exposures.
Three near-IR filters were used, centred at 727nm,750nm and 893nm
respectively so the colour is not really "true".
