1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED:

1.2 Completed Three Sets of WF/PC-2, FOC, FOS, and GHRS 5642 (Observations of the Impact of the Comet Shoemaker-Levy (1993E) and Jupiter)

The Faint Object Camera (f/96), WF/PC-2, FOS, and GHRS were all used made observations to support the Jupiter/Shoemaker-Levy event. This proposal represents the merger of several independent proposals. Twenty three different observations were received and displayed. Many were reported to be excellent. No anomalies were noted.

1.3 Completed WF/PC-2 5662 (Cycle 4 DD HST Observations of Comet Shoemaker-Levy (1993E) for July 1)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make images of the comet Shoemaker-Levy/9 (Object 12) to help refine the size estimates of the various components of the comet train. Two images were received and displayed in the OSS. They were reported to be okay.

2.4 Operations Notes:

Comet Shoemaker-Levy remnants continue to collide with the planet Jupiter with spectacular results. These collisions will occur periodically until early Friday morning.
