1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED:
1.7 Completed GHRS/2 5424 (High Resolution Observations of the Jovian UV Aurora: Cycle 4 Medium)
The High Resolution Spectrograph was used to make high resolution ultraviolet spectrographic observations of the aurora on the planet Jupiter short of 2000 A0. The goal is to determine the kinetic temperatures of the auroral region and the range of altitudes over which precipitating auroral particles deposit their energy and H2 Lyman and Werner Band emissions. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted.
