Goals

Deliver a highly-capable rover and science platform to explore the surface of Mars. The planned mission will consist of a stationary Russian landing platform and European robotic rover.

The six-wheeled rover will search for signs of well-preserved organic material on Mars. The surface platform will photograph the landing site, monitor the weather and study the Martian atmosphere. The spacecraft will communicate with Earth via Europe’s ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter—in orbit at Mars since 2016.
