Dr. Odenwald is a researcher studying the cosmic infrared background and space weather, who has also been heavily involved in education. He says there are many different ways to be an astronomer working for NASA -- you just have to be creative, flexible and not too stubborn!

Philip Scherrer
Dr. Scherrer coordinates the efforts of scientists and engineers as the principal investigator for an instrument on the Solar Dynamics Observatory. What he likes most about his job is the anticipation of discovering something interesting and useful about the inner workings of the sun.

Claire Raftery
Dr. Raftery studies solar flares. Her research has taken her all over the world! She was fascinated by stars and space during a visit to a planetarium.
