Dr. Scherrer coordinates the efforts of scientists and engineers as the principal investigator for an instrument on the Solar Dynamics Observatory. What he likes most about his job is the anticipation of discovering something interesting and useful about the inner workings of the sun.

Dr. Raftery studies solar flares. Her research has taken her all over the world! She was fascinated by stars and space during a visit to a planetarium.
