Marc Rayman
Mr. Rayman is the Project System Engineer for the Dawn Mission. He is involved in the design of the spacecraft and the design of the mission. He says his role is, in some sense, like the conductor for a symphony: he needs to know enough about each individual area so that he can collaborate, ask the right questions and guide the work so that it's applicable to the specifics of the Dawn mission.
Dawn Moessner
Ms. Moessner is a member of the MESSENGER mission design team. An Aerospace engineer, she optimizes the maneuvers of the spacecraft. She was inspired to becoome an engineer by the way that engineers had been able to design repairs to the Hubble Space Telescope for the astronauts to perform.
Ashley Stroupe
Ms. Stroupe is the robotics software engineer who has driven the current rovers on Mars. She says that the greatest scientists and engineers are not only those who are excellent in their fields, but also those who can successfully communicate their discoveries and inspire others to follow in their path. Writing and speaking are key skills for a career in the sciences and engineering.
Fernando Zumbado
Mr. Zumbado is a robotics system engineer working with a team to develop a prototype lunar rover. The highlight of his career so far was when the rover participated in President Obama's Inaugural Parade, watching children's eyes swell with amazement as the rover rolled by the viewing stand.
