Faisal Hossain
Got water? Dr. Hossain and his group study the availability and movement of water on Earth by looking down from satellites in space. They also look at developing nations' ability to monitor water resources.
Carle Pieters
Dr. Pieters uses spectroscopy to analyze the composition of planets; she is the principal investigator on the Moon Mineralogy Mapper instrument that detected water on the Moon.
William Boynton
Dr. Boynton has been studying Mars for many decades; most recently, he was the scientific lead for the Mars Phoenix Lander's on-board geochemistry lab. The Phoenix mission confirmed the presence of water on Mars!
John Spencer
Dr. Spencer is a scientist for the Cassini mission who studies Saturn's icy moons, such as Enceladus, Iapetus, and Mimas.
Drake Deming
Among other duties, Dr. Deming is the principal investigator on EPOCh (Extrasolar Planet Observations and Characterization); this mission is looking for potential planets in other systems. Dr. Deming has described how a dramatically bright reflection, a glint, observed on an extrasolar planet could provide evidence of oceans on other worlds!
Gene Feldman
Dr. Feldman has been studying the ocean for more than 25 years, primarily by analyzing the oceans' color to learn about plant growth in our world's oceans.
